DISREGARD COMPUTATION: The countable social security
benefit without the COLA is calculated using the COLA increase table as
follows:
A. divide the
current gross social security benefit by the COLA increase in the most current
year; the result is the social security benefit before the COLA increase;
B. divide the
result from Subsection A above by the COLA increase from the previous period or
year; the result is the social security benefit before the increase for that
period or year; and
C. repeat Subsection
B above for each year, through the year that the applicant or eligible recipient
received both social security benefits and supplemental security income (SSI);
the final result is the countable social security benefit.
