STATE GAME
COMMISSION MEETING AND RULE MAKING NOTICE
The
New Mexico State Game Commission (“Commission”) has scheduled a regular meeting
and rule hearing for Thursday, August 22, 2019, beginning at 9:00 a.m., at the
New Mexico State Capitol Room 317, 490 Old Santa Fe Trail, Santa Fe, NM 87501,
to hear and consider action as appropriate on the following: Presentation of proposed changes to the Migratory
Game Bird rule.
Synopsis:
The
proposal is to adopt a new Migratory Game Bird rule, 19.31.6 NMAC, which will
become effective September 1, 2019. The current Migratory Game Bird rule
expired on March 31, 2019.
The
proposed new rule will include adjusting regular waterfowl season dates,
extending the Middle Rio Grande Valle dark goose season by 17 days, decreasing
the number of sandhill crane permits, decreasing the
bag limit for northern pintail from 2 to 1, extending the hunting days and
hours at some Wildlife Management Areas, and moving the youth crane hunt one
week later to December 7th. A full text of changes will be available on the

Interested persons may submit comments
on the proposed changes to the Migratory Game Bird rule at
DGF-waterfowl@state.nm.us; or individuals may
submit written comments to the physical address below. Comments are due by 5:00 p.m. on August 21,
2019. The final proposed rule will be
voted on by the Commission during a public meeting on August 22, 2019. Interested persons may also provide data,
views or arguments, orally or in writing, at the public rule hearing to be held
on August 22, 2019.
