New Mexico Register / Volume XXX, Issue 21 / November 12,
2019
NOTICE OF PUBLIC COMMENT
The
United States Department of Health and Human Services requires the New Mexico
Human Services Department meet certain Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF)
work participation requirements. To
assist in meeting these requirements, federal regulations (45 CFR 261.40) allow
New Mexico to decrease its work participation rate percentage by the number of
percentage points that the FY 2019 caseload fell in comparison to the FY 2005
caseload. This is termed the TANF
Caseload Reduction Credit. The total
Federal expenditures and Maintenance of Effort (MOE) expenditures that are
included in this report are subject to change due to fluctuations during year
end budget close out and increases in MOE funding.
The
estimated changes and corresponding methodologies are reported in the proposed
TANF Caseload Reduction Credit Report which is available on the Human Services
Department website at: http://www.hsd.state.nm.us/LookingForInformation/income-support-division-plans-and-reports.aspx. If you do not have Internet access, a copy of
the proposed report may be requested by contacting the Income Support
Division’s Work and Family Support Bureau (WFSB) at (505) 827-7227. If you are a person with a disability and you

Disabilities Act Coordinator, at (505) 827-7701 or through the New Mexico Relay
