NOTICE
OF PROPOSED RULEMAKING
Public
Hearing. The New Mexico Public School Facilities
Authority (PSFA) gives notice that it will conduct a public hearing located at
the UNM Science and Technology Park Auditorium, 800 Bradbury Dr. SE
Albuquerque, NM, 87106, on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00
a.m. (MDT). The purpose of the public
hearing is to receive public input on the proposed amendments to 6.27.30 NMAC, Statewide
Adequacy Standards. At the hearing, the
PSFA will provide a verbal summary statement on record. Attendees who wish to provide public comment
on record will be given five (5) minutes to make a statement regarding the rule
changes. Written comment will also be
accepted at the hearing.
Explanation
of Purpose and Summary of Text.
As
the New Mexico public school statewide adequacy standards are dynamic, the
purpose of the proposed amendment to rule 6.27.30 NMAC is to ensure that
updates to space and attributes needed to support educational and technology
programs and curricula, defined and justified as required by public education
department standards and benchmarks are incorporated into the adequacy
standards as time and circumstances require.

Stakeholder
Engagement. Stakeholder
engagement regarding this proposed rule change was held. PSFA conducted
statewide workshops with school districts and the architecture and engineering
community in 2018 to explain the purpose of the standards and gather feedback
regarding potential changes from these stakeholders.
Public
Comment. Interested parties may provide comment at the
public hearing or may submit written comments by mail to Casandra Cano,
Programs Support Manager, Public School Facilities Authority, 1312 Basehart SE, Suite 200, Albuquerque, NM 87106, by
electronic mail to programs@nmpsfa.org.
All written comments must be received no later than 5:00 p.m. (MDT) on September
27, 2019. The PSFA encourages the early
submission of written comments. The
public comment period is from August 27, 2019 to September 27, 2019 at 5:00
p.m. (MDT). The PSFA will review all
feedback received during the public comment period and issue communication
regarding final decision at a later date.

Individuals
with disabilities who require the above information in an alternative format,
or who need any form of auxiliary aid to attend or participate in the public

possible before the date set for the public hearing. The PSFA requires at least ten (10) calendar
days advance notice to provide any special accommodations requested.
